Archangel Michael

The Holy Archangel Michael is one of the most celebrated of the Angels and bodiless powers; he is called the Archistrategos, or chief commander, of all the bodiless powers.

History of the Monastery

The century in which the monastery church was built is not exactly known. The monastery, is thought to date originally from the 7th century. Nearby sites have been occupied since antiquity, with artifacts dating back up to 4,000 years being uncovered.

New Monastery of the Archangel Michael

Surrounded by orchards and vineyards, the Monastery of the Holy Archangel lies about 20km to the north of Limassol, near to the village of Monagri. The main church with its iconostasis from the 18th.
